What Do Our Parents Think?

At the suggestion of a friend whose son enjoyed his experience, we decided to investigate the possibility of our son attending NYHS.   We were attracted by the small class size and the school's reputation for developing critical thinking and analytical skills through the combination of Judaic and academic studies.

Although he had never attended a Jewish day school, the faculty assured us that our son would receive the support that was necessary...what they didn't say, and what we now know, is that the support network of any NYHS student comes not only from the faculty, but from the immediate and welcoming embrace of the students and the school's community.

Our son Andrew is currently a happy, involved and enthusiastic senior at NYHS; we cannot imagine a better learning and spiritual environment for his high school experience and hope that he will carry this experience forward for his college years.

  - Mark and Jane Orenstein

What Do Our Students Think?
I learn a lot at NYHS that can't just be taught in a classroom.
 - Makena Owens 2012

I love NYHS because you get challenged at your skill level yet the teachers and administrators know that we are individuals and learn differently and they give you a lot of freedom to learn your way.
-Albert Hanan 2015

It's a school but so much more.
-Ben Golden 2012

What Do Our Teachers Think?
I love the students, my fellow teachers and staff.  This is a great creative and nurturing environment.  It feels like a family.
 - Yulia Chubotin - Art Teacher
What Do Our Alumni Think?
NYHS definitely was a formative experience and it has positively impacted how I approach the world, how I approach my studies and how I approach the future.
 - Daniela Aaron 2007 (Stern College senior)

NYHS had a really wonderful impact on me religiously, academically and personally.  Succeeding in college isn't difficult or daunting after NYHS.
 - Chelsea Garbell 2008 (NYU Steinhardt Scholar)
