Graduation Requirements
Northwest Yeshiva High School provides a four-year program of General and Torah Studies. Academic achievement is important, but forms only part of the vital high school experience. While we recognize that certain students possess an aptitude that would allow them to accelerate their high school studies, NYHS does not offer an early graduation program. In order to graduate, students must complete their senior year at NYHS. The following will be the graduation requirements for students entering the Yeshiva as freshmen. Other students will be expected to meet these requirements to the extent possible. Please note the Community Service requirements at the end of this section.

IMPORTANT:
* To fulfill math graduation requirements, students in the Class of 2010 (this year’s entering freshmen) and in graduating classes thereafter must have successfully completed a math class at least three levels beyond Pre-Algebra. In other words, they must have completed Advanced Algebra or Integrated Math III. This requirement, approved by the Education Committee and the Board of Directors at the behest of the Math Department and the Administration, ratifies what is already a near universal reality.
** Many major universities require three years of study in the same foreign language. The Yeshiva strongly recommends that students taking only three years of a foreign language, do so in a single language.TORAH Studies
The following are the standard Torah Studies requirements for students entering the Yeshiva as freshmen. Students enter NYHS at varying levels of preparation in Torah Studies. NYHS will adapt these requirements to correspond with the student’s level of preparation. A program is provided for students with very limited background.
In all cases, students are required to complete a minimum of two-and-one-half (2.5) credits per semester.

NYHS may offer additional classes in Parasha (The Weekly Portion) or in other areas. Completion of these courses is required for graduation.
