About NYHS
  • Northwest Yeshiva High School promotes excellence in education. We believe education should not exist simply to transmit knowledge.  It is our responsibility to maintain an environment that encourages young minds to ask questions, and to clarify their ideas.

  • It is our core belief that Judaism is a complete way of life that embraces and celebrates many of the best aspects of the religious and secular worlds.
  • An NYHS education enables students to become increasingly sophisticated thinkers, both critically and creatively.  NYHS strives to instill in its students a lifetime of devotion to, and love of, learning for its own sake.
  • NYHS is fully accredited by the Northwest Association of Schools and Colleges.
  • NYHS has served the Greater Seattle Jewish community since 1974. We  serve students from all segments of the Jewish community with diverse Jewish experiences and perceptions.
  • NYHS provides a comprehensive Torah Studies program which emphasizes the development of skills, a broad knowledge of Judaism, and critical thinking.
  • NYHS provides one of the most intensive College Preparatory Studies programs in the state. This includes math, science, language arts, social studies, and foreign language, plus an outstanding physical education and participation in interscholastic sports programs.
  • Our students benefit from small class sizes, a demanding curriculum, and an outstanding faculty.
  •  NYHS fosters a sense of service to community. Students are required to perform community services each year they are enrolled.  Many students actively work with agencies such as the JFS Food Bank, Friendship Circle, Children's Hospital, Swedish Hospital, J Harvest, and national Jewish youth groups, and local synagogues.
  • NYHS Graduates continue their Jewish education in the United States and Israel. Our graduates go on to study at leading universities and colleges throughout the country, such as Brandeis University, Boston University, Barnard, Columbia University, Carnegie Mellon University, Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, New York University, University of Washington, Stern College, Touro College, Tulane University, Yeshiva University, Harvard University, McGill, Stonybrook University, University of Pennsylvania, Hebrew University and Bar Ilan University.

Northwest Yeshiva High School is a beneficiary agency of the Samis Foundation and the Jewish Federation of Greater Seattle.
